Visited The Ravenous Taotie for lunch, a cozy spot with a decor of figurines and a server in cosplay, enhancing the quirky atmosphere. The place is small and fills up quickly, so arriving early helped us get a seat without a reservation. It’s a partial service restaurant where you write your order on paper and fetch your own containers for leftovers. We ordered the braised spare ribs with egg noodles and a braised beef rice combo. Both dishes arrived quickly, within 10-15 minutes, and were packed with lots of tender, flavorful meat. The portions were generous for the price, offering great value. They have various spice levels; I chose less spicy, but options are available for more heat. The food was authentic and satisfying, leaving us with plenty of leftovers. Overall, The Ravenous Taotie is a great, affordable spot for casual dining. Definitely worth a return visit to explore more dishes. Tip: Consider booking ahead for dinner, as it seems to get busy!

Only sad cause I haven’t tried this place sooner!! We ordered 3 dishes and not one lacked flavour and all were made with fresh ingredients. Our favourite was definitely the braised beef over the spare ribs! It was more tender and we’d order that again, the sauce was so yummy and with pockets of tofu. Great portion and they don’t make you feel like you’re missing out on meat! They have many other options- I plan to try a noodle dish next. Also with how it was served, not only looks great but kept our food hot even though it didn’t take long for us to finish cause it was so yummy. In the winter I can imagine this place would be great too with such comforting dishes. The atmosphere may not be for everyone but I found it unique and fun but if it’s not your cup of tea, you can always order takeout! The staff was super patient and friendly as we didn’t know what to order and had questions. They answered kindly and were very helpful! Even gave us a better booth when they noticed a new one opened up, was very appreciated Thank you!!

Unapologetically Chinese restaurant with delicious food with good portions. They don't skip on the spice level but you can choose which level you want. I've ordered multiple dishes but the standout for me is the dandan noodles with no broth, it's called Sichuan Ground Pork Noodles (Dried) on the menu. The noodles are perfectly chewy with a good accompanying sauce. Other tasty items I've ordered include hot pot with sesame sauce, stewed chicken and mushroom noodles, ice jelly and spicy beef tripe. When you walk in you're greeted in Chinese but English is also an option. The place is decorated with anime and Asian memorabilia. And the floors have that signature Chinese restaurant build-up grease feeling. If you pay cash, there's a discount.

Really enjoyed the noodles soup and regular noodles. Takeout was good portion

I recently visited The Ravenous Taotie at 735 Wonderland Rd N #11, London, Ontario, and I can confidently say it’s one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in the city! This cozy little gem offers authentic Sichuan cuisine with a unique twist, and it’s absolutely worth a visit. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the quirky and fun atmosphere. The decor is filled with cosplay figurines, and one of the servers was even dressed in a costume, which added a playful vibe to the experience. It’s a small space, but it’s packed with personality. The partial self-service style—where you write your order on a sheet and grab your own takeout containers—only adds to the charm and makes it feel casual and welcoming. The food? Outstanding. I ordered the Braised Sparerib Noodles, and they were a revelation—tender, flavorful meat falling off the bone, paired with perfectly spiced broth and hearty noodles. You can customize the spice level, and I went for medium, which had just the right kick without overwhelming me. The portions are incredibly generous, too—I ended up with enough leftovers for another meal, which felt like a bonus for the price. I also tried the Hot Pot with Soup, choosing black fungus and fried tofu as add-ins, and it was a deliciously comforting dish with bold, authentic flavors. Service was quick and friendly, even during a busy dinner rush. The staff clearly care about what they’re doing, and it shows in the quality of the food. I appreciated how fast everything came out, yet it still felt freshly prepared. If you’re a fan of spicy, authentic Chinese cuisine, this place is a must-try. It’s not just a meal—it’s an experience. I’m already looking forward to my next visit to explore more of the menu. Pro tip: call ahead to book a spot for dinner, as it can get busy. For the quality, portion size, and unique vibe, The Ravenous Taotie easily earns 5 stars from me. London is lucky to have this spot!

Tonight, I wanted some Chinese food, so I found a place in west London. The little eatery is called The Ravenous Taotie 川铺. I noticed something peculiar right off the bat. This place was full of cosplay figurines, and one of the servers was dressed up in a cosplay costume. When ordering, be careful. Some dishes are served cold. I began my dinner with ice jelly. This was strange but good. In a bowl, there were blobs of jelly completely transparent. It came with four toppings. These included chopped peanuts, another type of sliced nut, dried berries, and something I’ve never seen before (they looked like Flinstone vitamins). I chose a hot pot in a sesame sauce for my main. They let me choose up to five ingredients. I went with black fungus, fried tofu, crab sticks, a lobster roll, and a fried gluten ball. Since my appetite was still not quenched, I ordered one more dish. This was their Sichuan Ground Pork Dried. It awesomely had a quail egg, noodles, marinated ground pork, scallions, chopped peanuts, bean sprouts, and lime juice. The only thing I would change are the cold bean sprouts and lime juice. This dinner was superb! All I can say is that I want to go back.

Great spot for traditional Chinese fare with generous portions. Very unique spot with lots of figurine decorations. We got the hot pot with udon and the beef noodles and both were very good. The food is well prepared and is really filling.

London, this restaurant is a hidden gem. It's an authentic Chinese restaurants that has a good selection of very flavourful dishes. You even get to choose your spice level. The service is great. We ordered about 6 different dishes and all were so tasty. The restaurant is a little small but cozy and the decorations and very unique. It's absolutely worth the visit. I literally went 2 days in a row.
